About Gunnar

After the research of Pieter Oliehoek about the genetic diversity of the Icelandic Sheepdog in 1995, multiple attempts have been done to get genetic important lines to the Netherlands. Kennel frá Gull Lyklinum bred a litter with semen from Icelandic Ulfur. One of the puppies from that litter is Gunnar’s father: Grettir Ulfsson frá Gull Lyklinum. Grettir had only three puppies, from whom Gunnar is the only one that can still reproduce.

Gunnar has a very low MK and combined with the fact that he hasn’t any brothers or sisters that can reproduce, it’s very important that he will have puppies.
Because of this reason we’ve decided to choose him for our upcoming litter with Ylfa.

Gunnar is a very sweet, confident and stable 10-year-old male. His favorite activity is running next to his owners bike, which they therefore do every day. Gunnar has a long haired coat with underneath a strong, musculine and compact body.
